Prayer Changes Things

“We must begin to believe that God, in the mystery of prayer, has entrusted us with a force that can move the Heavenly world, and can bring its power down to earth.” Andrew Murray

I know there are so many issues that are permeating our culture right now. Our response when we see injustice is rightfully filled with a desire for action. We need to continue to ask ourselves how we can give to those who are in need, stand and contend for justice, or be with those that are hurting. We need to continue to find ways for our voice to be heard to be advocates for the voiceless. We need to continue to denounce the ways of evil that are against the way of Jesus. My hope is that we never forget that we are also contending against “principalities and powers.” We need to be praying people. We need to remember that unless we receive wisdom and power from the Spirit of God, we will ultimately be aimless in our response to injustice and pain. We need to pray because it is the power of God that will ultimately bring any true radical and sustainable change.

In our humanity, we will continue to do the next right thing. We will continue to stand for what’s right, serve those that have less, give to those in need and help those who are helpless. Let’s encourage one another toward remembering to be intentional with our prayer life as we seek to contend for what is right.
